ALCOHOLLLL.

Aside from the pretty pointless rehearsals (for me, since the toms don't play 90% of the time) where i had to Endure the weight, free time today was spent going to the supermarket, watching Ghajini with muthu, and GETTING A BLIND MAN MASSAGE. They weren't actually blind though, not all of them. But it was honestly an awesome massage and i am light and sprightly now (:

nanchang, china

Hello online world, this is day 2 in China and so far the experience has been shocking but nonetheless refreshing.

Flying China Southern has really made me appreciate SIA and it's comfortable seats, entertaining technology, and prettier air stewardesses. Somehow there was turbulence, and I don't really do turbulence well. My ear's still popping.

Then when we touched down in Guangzhou, I thought China was pretty advanced after all, since the city was very cbdish. Amenities are cheaper here! After that we took the connecting flight to Nanchang, which, for all its one lane 4 way streets, is pretty charming. I've visited my first walmart. CHAOS.

It seems like food is very extreme here. Juice is either too sweet or too bland. Food is too spicy. Or oily, or salty, or in the worst case, too bland. There's actually a dish of pork lard here. Almost ate a mouthful of it. And for some reason they don't have cold drinks. The tea is hot, okay, but the orange juice and apple juice and milk and soya bean are hot too. Not to mention the soya bean is white water.

But life's good!

For 5 years I will be doing the percussive arts in Singapore Armed Forces military band and shall reap all the perks of being a regular musician including but not limited to overseas training, free abrsm diploma examinations and much higher pay than nsf (D:), then I shall evacuate to Berklee to do my contemporary studies. Yes, I'm going to be doing my further studies in music~ and I'm totallay going to be a professional musician heck I already am :D Of course there was the painful process of deciding and convincing my parents because now effectively all my education qualification is wasted but whatevers la life is just once doncha agree :D

I am the rubberband man, I live in a forest of twine and butter. Sometimes the thrush sings confusing, but mostly demons covet our rusted milk cookies.

hi all! i'm giving basic drum lessons at a low low rate of $15 per hour, non-inclusive of booking of a studio if you don't want to come to my house which is in the west.

it'll be a basic course, 3-4 lessons, and what you'll take away is theory (both on the equipment themselves as well as how to read drum scores), basic technique, rudimentaries, and some basic beats. this includes but is not limited to snare work, hihat technique, pedalling technique, and etcetera, just to give you a basic idea of how the lessons can be broken down.

you'll want to get your own pair of sticks for practice, which i can help you pick out, though i can lend you mine if you dont have them yet. these can be rather decent at less than $15. that's all there is to it friends!

conversely, if you already have some experience and would like to learn, say, swing, which is one style that i am better at, i can adapt too.

also, if anyone is in need of or knows anybody in need of a 3 piece smooth jazz band to play either as performers or background music at functions, weddings, or the like, keep us in mind too.

if interested in any of the above, or if you know anyone interested in any of the above, please contact at 91449826. thank you! :D

When people feel down during a dark, stormy, night, they call it symbolic. If the weather is bright and sunny, they call it ironic. We've really got to give ourselves a break and cheer up regardless of whatever!

HELP. Why am I hooked on fusion music now. If it was indie or something, I could work with music blaring. But not fusion, I gotta listen and orgasm with it :/

HELP

I'm happy. Because I bought a speaker-egg. It has nice bass boost and stuff, but the most important thing is that it is an egg that never falls down, and it plays music. Woohoo.

In other news, I'm getting pro at The One Star again :D

Would you rather be freaked out all the time or very sad all the time?

i have dreams of orca whales and owls

Pretty pretty lyrics.

Pop-culture nowadays is becoming more and more rough, unpolished. And it's not a bad thing - art can't be perfection forever because even perfection gets boring hehe. I like the attitude behind things, especially the devil-may-care kind, but not the emo kind, but the "I'm a dandelion, look at me fly, I've no qualms about anything because I've got the wind with me".

Oi think that the British accent is secksy.

post a-levels

i will devote to musicking (:

want a keyboard/synthesizer. korg microkorg blackkeys!

expand set, include bongos, get a nice ride with a bell. dark crash. k custom maybe.

learning scales (modes and shit) - become good at keyboard (: playing too instinctively now.

become decent performer on guitar/bass, for the sake of arranging/composing in the future.

drum mics!

digital drumkit.

this should be... over the course of NS before i decide my future. and i'll probably only fulfill half. it is exciting, and i can't wait to specialize. i am a very picky artiste, very picky i am, and this general school work studying is killing my drive+creativity. wanna escape from this drear and blear D:

MUG ))): and back to dis-passioned reality.

love is...

(1) A nagging wrongness that transports you into raptures.
Love is an attitude, not a shoutout from the soul. A multicoloured view of the world, of flowers in the heart. But not flowers a la roses, but those of wild abandon that grow in places where they shouldn't. Where there's music and there's life, there love is bound to start. Highs and ecstacy are the keys to become undone. Pretty lights and groovy beats are epitomes of fun. For love is fun; it's sensibility undone; it's delusion, illusion - a fusion. And he or she who inspires such embodies thus the idea, of love.

(2) A magical feeling that nobody else inspires.
Love is long walks along the beach at midnight, with the waves lapping at the shore. But nobody sleeps then, yet nobody is awake, for in their world there exists nothing except the other. For in their world it is vast, spanning farther than any known world, yet simple, simpler than the sand beneath their feet. And all you can hear is the lullaby of water. Love is transcendence, feeling yet not feeling, being yet not being, and the one true constant - the other.

(3) The ability to be selfless.
Love is never wanting to see her hurt or in pain, to hold her umbrella in the rain, to endure till you turn insane, and after still. It's not about you - it's about her, nothing in return - it's a solo duty, the desire to protect and keep harm from and spirit away to an eternal rest where the spoils of life do not spoil the fruit so sweet. A knight is you, in shining armour you're clad, and though mud, and blood, may stain, the virgin image is forever immortalised in her eyes.

(4) All of the above.

(5) None of the above! Love is...

(6) It can't be explained, so stop trying.

Hmm...
